Sevres Portrait Cup & Saucer, Madame Royale Charlotte, Hand Painted
CONDITION: Excellent, without defects of any kind. Porcelain chocolate cup and saucer produced in France by Sevres from the 19th century. The saucer measures 4 7/8 inches in diameter and 1 1/8 inches high. The cup is 2 3/4 inches high, without the handle and has a diameter of 3 1/8 inches. The cup features an empire style handle that sweeps up over the rim of the cup. There is a hand painted portrait of Madame Charlotte, daughter of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. There is fine gilding throughout. Please note the ground color is pale beige somewhat similar sand. It was difficult to adjust the color exactly.
