Seltmann Weiden Espresso Coffee Pot Cream & Sugar 12 Cup Saucer German TRUE Porcelain in Annabell pattern. A rare find, you may see the pot with the cream and sugar, but rarely a complete set comes up for sale in this condition. There are 3 types of porcelain: true (or hard paste), artificial (or soft porcelain) and bone china.

True Porcelain or Hartporzellan as marked on the base of the pot is made from Kaolin which is a fine white clay that resists melting better than other types of porcelain, and for this reason it can be fired at higher temperatures thus allowing it to vitrify forming a non porous natural glass. In a cross-section it would be impossible to distinguish the body from the glaze. Complete set includes lids for the pot and the covered sugar, all 12 cup & saucers accounted for. No signs of cracks or crazing, however the gilding along the rim has darkened in some of the cups. Despite the darkening the gilding is all there and shows no signs of scratches or missing glaze. Pot: 8.5" H x 7.5" W (widest point). Sugar: 4" H x 3-3/4" W. Creamer: 3.5" H x 3.5" W. Cup: 2-1/4" H x 2-3/8" W (widest point). Saucer: 1/2" H x 4.5" W.
