It is horizontal and about an inch long and does penetrate through the bowl. Therefore we would advise this is a display piece and would not use. The saucer has some marks where the cup has sat against it. The cup has crazing and a very faint small rim hairline that could have been original firing flaw that is not noticable unless under scrutinous inspection. There is also a flea sized bite on the rim under the glaze.
There are not any other notable chips cracks restoration. This is an item of considerable age and there may be tiny signs of wear and original firing marks that are not notable commensurate with age.
Please see images as this is the exact piece you photographed carefully for examination and for better representation than I can describe. It is recommended to super size for very close examination of this lovely piece.
