Popov or Continental Cup Saucer Landscape Porcelain Antique 19th Century 1800-20
This attractive and boldly decorated set shows a monochrome landscape scene of a countryside with buildings, including an impressive villa set on a cliff above the water, and is marked with what looks like an incised W or overlapping Vs, which I thought was perhaps one of the marks of a porcelain factory run by Jean Verneuilh in Bordeaux. A helpful eBayer says that it is by Popov, so Russia is another option to think about, though the mark doesn't appear to be exactly right. The British Museum has a Popov set with a handle that looks precisely the same as this handle. The set is in excellent condition with only very slight surface wear.
