Decorated with a hand painted portrait of a distinguished older gentleman. Possibly William Blake as he is usually depicted wearing a brown coat with a white necktie; however, that is pretty common attire for the period.
He is usually depicted as balding in the front and has similar facial features. The portrait is framed by gold gilt designs and the center of the cup is gold. With gold bands above and below.Has a wide gold band on the inside of the cup. Gold highlights to the handle. Has some wear to the gilding and the saucer has an approximately 1 1/8 inch crack extending off the edge. The cup measures approximately 4 inches wide including the handle x 4 5/8 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 6 1/4 inches wide.
