DESCRIPTION: The decorative set was manufactured, designed, and decorated in the Elite Works Studio. The designer of the decoration was most talented. The overall quality of the design is quite professional. The gold is applied using the stippled method on the handles and rims and is very rich looking. The roses are nestled in their green leaves accented by the accompanying petite lavender flowers. The foot of the cups and the well of the saucers are decorated by a thin gold line. Look at the photos to see the beauty of this set. CONDITION: While this decorative set is classified as used, its condition is superb. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches, crazing or hairlines. Overall, the gold on the handles and rims is stippled as applied & glossy. DIMENSIONS: The cups have a diameter of 3 1/8" and a height of 2 1/4". The saucers have a diameter of 5 1/2" and a height of 3/4".

HISTORY/MARKS: In the 1860's, Bawo & Dotter was established in New York City for the purpose of importing china, especially Limoges porcelain. The firm established its own decorating studio in Limoges, France in the early 1870's named The Elite Works.
