German Late Biedermeier Period Porcelain Hand Painted Portrait Cup/Saucer c. 1845

  

The cup features a gorgeous portrait of a young woman with hair and dress in the "Grecian" or Empire style. In addition to this wonderful portrait, the balance of the cup (and saucer) are decorated in lovely hand gilded grape leaves, flower and fruit baskets, cornucopia, a bird and a butterfly.
