Antique P. L. Dagoty Empire Period Porcelain Swan Cup with Saucer 1804-1814

  
19th century gilded white bisque swan-form cup with oval saucer. Josephine was known for her excellent decorative style. Swan cup and saucer marked on the bottom in red Manafacture de S. Pierre-Louis became sole owner in 1804 and in 1807 the lease was renewed for a further nine years. Factory was under the protection of the Empress Josephine and supplied porcelain for Versailles.

Swan cup: H- 3 1/4"(from bottom to neck high point) L- 4 3/4". Saucer : W- 4 3/4" L- 5 3/4".

Condition: Very good antique condition wear consistent with age. Minor gold wear to the gilding, some scratches from prior use. No evidence of chips, cracks, hairlines or restorations.
