CONDITION: Very slight wear to a couple of high points on edge of saucer. This tea cup, saucer and dessert plate were produced in England by Hammersley in the 1890s.
It has printed and impressed markings. The plate is 6 1/2 inches in diameter and the saucer is 5 3/4 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 inches tall and the mouth of the cup is 3 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches long.
The porcelain is molded with the shape and texture of sea shells. The shell shape of the plate and saucer creates little. The cup has the most ingenious scallop shell shape. A transfer outline is painted over by hand in brilliant colors. The pattern is known as "Dresden Sprays" and indeed they are styled after Dresden and Meissen flowers.
The rims are accents with sponged on gold. This is a unique Victorian delight that any collector would love. FOR OUR CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE THE US. The Post Office requires this. This item is in the category "Pottery & Glass\Decorative Cookware, Dinnerware & Serveware\Cup & Saucers".
