Antique Donath Dresden Demitasse Cup & Saucer, Scenic, Footed
CONDITION: There is a small chip on the edge of one foot and just 2 tiny beads are missing from the well of the saucer that you can hardly see. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Donath Dresden studio around 1900. It was produced especially for the retailer Greenleaf & Crosby Company in Florida. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches. The cup is 2 1/8 inches tall (without the handle) with a diameter of 2 5/8 inches. The set is hand painted with panoramic scenes around the surface of the saucer and wrapping around the cup. Dressed in 18th century costumes are courting in garden landscapes. The painting is done mainly in shades of teal green with accents in beige and white. The painting has very fine detail. The borders of each piece have elegant raised beading. The cup features an empire style handle that curls up over the rim of the cup and it has three gold feet. The well of the saucer has a raised gold medallion and raised gold beads. Is a demitasse cup and saucer of exceptional quality and beauty. The Post Office requires this.
