Another cup and saucer made by Doccia in the late 18th to mid 19th century. This is what most people refer to as Capodimonte style with the mythological figures in relief.
I don't believe Capodimonte ever actually made this style but Doccia did and made it famous for sure! The cup has lots of figural scenes on it with some trees, lots of people and two oxen. The saucer is decorated with scroll work and garlands. All this is done in relief and is very detailed. The set is in great condition with some of their typical manufacturing flaws of this period including small cracks that are mostly under the glaze two on the saucer decoration are not but they do not go through!! , minor black spots and inclusions. The handle is supposed to simulate coral and was used during the same time the thin branch type handle was used. The cup is marked with the crown over N mark in under glaze blue and the saucer is not marked at all which is nothing unusual! So the saucer is likely a bit older than the cup. The cup stands 3 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.75 inches tall and 5.625 inches in diameter.
