Antique Cauldon Demitasse or Espresso Cup & Saucer for Tiffany
This porcelain demitasse or espresso cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Cauldon around 1900. It was especially made for Tiffany of New York.
The saucer is 4 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 1/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches. The set is made of fine, white bone china that is quite similar to Mintons. The ground color is a creamy ivory shade. A band of colorful flowers on a trellis encircle each piece.
Bands of embossed gold encircle the cup and saucer on both sides of the flower bands. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. The Post Office requires this.
