Antique Ambrosius Lamm Dresden Hand Painted figures Watteau Scene Cup Saucer & plate. FactoryPorzellanmalerei Ambrosius Lamm (1887 until 1934), Germany. Ambrosius Lamm opened his porcelain decorating business in 1887 and as a perfectionist only used items from renown companies like the Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur in Meisen. He mainly decorated the items in the well known'Dresden','Meissen' and'Kopenhagen' styles but around 1906 his speciality was the'Alt-Dresden' decoration (which represents a special form of flower arrangements) as well as the wide area of Watteau-type decorations and mythology. SizeThe cup: 4.7 cm high/11.5 cm diameter.
The saucer: 16 cm diameter. The plate: 19.3 cm diameter. There is a residue of gel on the upper rim of the cup(the second last picture), and a minor imperfection of gold on the top of the handle(the second last picture), it is not a restoration just a minor uneven paint, hardly noticeable. Beside that all of 3 pieces are in mint condition.
This is an exquisite Ambrosius Lamm cup saucer and plate with extensive details. The cup saucer and plate hand-painted with the scene of ladies in 19th century fashion dress with great attention paying to the details of the costumes. The exterior of the cup and the saucer and the plate have the same pattern of beautiful shiny raised gold designs and gold beads decorations. An elegant and extraordinary cup saucer and plate set!
