A superb cup and saucer made by Sevres in 1895 / 1896. The set is hand painted with their famous mottled deep cobalt blue color, meant to imitate lapis lazuli, with simple gold lines as trim to the edges and handle. A superb look for sure!

There is also a gold monogram to the front - I think it is the letter RJ or JR not sure. I always love how they even color the underside rim of the saucer blue - just a nice touch! The set is in perfect condition which is always a plus.

Both pieces are marked underneath - the cup having the green S. 96 in an oval in green and the saucer the S95 in a green oval as shown. Both also have the usual incised marks as well as the some artist marks as shown. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter.

The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter. French France Untertasse Unterteller 19th century 19thC.
