A fun little cup and saucer set made by Rue de la Piere-Levee in France in the 19th century around 1875. The company merged with Bloch and is now known as the famous Porcelain de Paris marker you still see all the time. Very much in their taste with that heavy raised gilding and nice hand painted floral designs all around. Fancy handle shape to the cup and actually both the cup and saucer have an unusual shape with the cup having a bulbous bottom and the saucer a little raised pedestal instead of the usual well. Bit of a relief design to the porcelain paste. Not sure what these are meant to be used for - maybe for Turkish coffee? A really nice looking cup & saucer that's for sure! The pieces are in great condition with just a touch of wear to two of the green leaves. The cup is 2.25 inches tall and 1.75 inches in diameter at the wider bottom part. The saucer is 0.625 inches tall with a diameter of 4.25 inches. The set is unmarked with their crossing swords mark with the letters E between the bottom and C between the tops. The cup has a gilt crown painted over the mark as shown. If you like my goodies have a look at my other auctions for a lot more top maker pieces like St.

Cloud, Sevres and so on. Photos are part of the description - if you need other just let me know exactly what you are looking for and I'll take care of it speedily! Please do not send me questions on items other than my own!
