A cup and saucer made by Meissen in the late 18th century or early 19th century. A stunning set that is hand painted with one large flower on white ground on each piece with the rest having a cobalt blue ground with some nice fancy gilding to it. Simple and elegant and the two different flowers are great. Off course they are a set and the trim matches perfectly as shown just in case there is any doubt.
The set is in perfect condition with some very very minimal wear to the gilding. Both pieces are marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark with the star of the Marcolini period and the usual impressed marks one finds around this time. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter. The saucer is just over 1 inch tall and 5.25 inches in diameter.
