A superb cup and saucer made by Caughley in the 18th century. It is decorated in under glaze blue with the hard to find Nankin pattern (often referred to one of the blue Willow patterns) and a bit of gilding to the edges and handle. The pattern is very nice and crisp and it is not a pattern one can find that easily so it was a nice addition to my collection.
The set is in perfect condition with some very minor wear to the gilding. Both are marked with a blue S mark on the underside as shown. The cup is just under 3 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is about 1.125 inches tall with a diameter of 5.5 inches. English England blue & white.
