A nice set of six cups and their saucers made by one of the Paris region makers in the early 19th century. Each set is superbly decorated with a hand painted landscape scene in black with a gold trim to the top edge as well as a few small gold flowers and gold trim to the handle. The quality of the work is good and they are in fantastic condition with almost zero wear. Just one cup has a hairline to it as shown. The cups are all marked underneath with an incised script small m and the saucers with an incised y.
Possibly done by La Courtille or one of a number of similar makers of this period. Each cup is 2.5 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. The saucers are 1.125 inches tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. If you like my goodies have a look at my other auctions for a lot more top maker pieces like Chantilly, Sevres and so on.
