A charming late 18th century porcelain coffee can and saucer manufactured by the royal porcelain factory of Andre M. This hard paste porcelain factory was established in 1776 at 661 rue Thiroux. Its high quality porcelain became known as Porcelaine de la Reine due to its royal patronage. The cup and saucer are painted with delicate red and gilt leaf borders. They bear the initial D. Each piece is marked in red with a crown above the initial A on the base. This was to signify the patronage of Queen Marie Antoinette. Leboeuf managed to secure the patronage of Queen Marie Antoinette.

This gave him the right to mark his china with her monogram or initial. Her Majesty gave further encouragement by ordering from Leboeuf some of the china that was used for the Belvedere Pavilion and the dairy at Versailles as well as particular pieces which she gave to her friends as gifts.

Due to this royal patronage and the great popularity of his work, Leboeuf's porcelain became known as Porcelaine a la Reine. The cup and saucer are both in excellent very condition, especially after use and display for around 230 years. It is a delightful set which displays beautifully. The cup measures almost 6cm high and 6.5cm in diameter. The saucer measures 13cm in diameter and 2.5cm deep.
