HEREND Porcelain CHANTICLEER Cup & Saucer

  

Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely Herend porcelain hand painted flat edge cup and saucer with 24 K gold rim in the CHANTICLEER pattern introduced in 1930.

The white porcelain body is beautifully decorated with a rooster and hen design on rounded lower body with scattered colorful butterflies, a wide molded basket weave border and a scalloped gilt decorated rim. Chanticleer is a multi-motif pattern that included four different designs.

The cup is in Motif #3 and the saucer is Motif #2. This design is currently only made in a few of the regular dinner service pieces and the accessories are harder to find than most designs. Cup measures 2 1/8" high with a top diameter of 3 1/2" (not including handle). Saucer measures 5 3/8 in diameter.

Combined weight is 8.3 ounces. This nice cup and saucer set is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws or signs of wear.
