A superb bough / bulb pot / flower pot made by one of the Paris makers in the early 19th century. Reminds me of some Jacob Petit in style pieces but it is not marked. The piece has its original lid which is always special. The bough pot has a great shape to it with the main body sitting on four lion feet on an attached base. It is nicely hand painted on all four sides with scenes - two of which are in the harbor or merchant style and two more like Watteau scenes of couples in a landscape. Each scene is surrounded by a blue ground with raised gold design to either sides with more gilding all around. The top and bottom has a blue flower design to it.
The top rim has a gold and blue design to it and the lid has the same blue ground and raised gold design as well as the small blue flowers design and some gilding. The lid has a nice shape to it with a man hole in the center and five holes around the outer part. The piece is not marked underneath but that is common for Paris pieces of this time period. Including its lid is 7 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter.
It is in good condition with some wear to the gilding as shown in the pictures, the lid has a spot where the blue paint did not cover a spot and the top rim of the main body has a V shapes hairline almost like a chip but it never came off plus a small chip to the edge as show.
