A really nice cup made by one of the Paris makers around 1800. It is hand painted with a nice landscape scene to the front including the usual tiny people, trees, buildings, etc. In the typical fashion for this sort of ware with the rest of the main body having a reddish purple ground color , some really nice gilding and a fantastic handle shape that is fully gilded. Some of the gilding on the underside rim and along the bottom of the main body is on a raised design typical for a maker named Dagoty though the piece is unmarked. It is a really nice example and in good condition with no chips, etc. But there is wear to the gilding on the inside as shown and a bit along the very bottom edge of the foot. It displays superbly and is a really stunning looking piece! As is the norm the piece is not marked but definitely from this region and of this period. The cup is a touch over 3.5 inches tall with the handle sticking up another good 0.75 inches and has a diameter of 3.25 inches. 18thC 19thC 18th 19th century.
